A member asked:

Is it normal to hbe brown spotting and slight cramps 2 days after an hsg tht they had to force the liquid through? or can an hsg trigger your cycle

Likely yes: Some spotting is perfectly normal - it may have come from the grasper on your cervix or the uterus itself. The hsg cannot cause you to have a period. Good luck!

Not abnormal: You may experience some spotting and cramping for a few days after an hsg, especially if an abnormality was seen on the hsg exam. E.G. If a tube was blocked, there are additional manuevers that can be done to try to open it, etc. The brownish color means that it is older blood and not active bright red blood.
