Not to worry: If you have a thyroidectomy, they will give you thyroid replacement, and when adjusted properly, your thyroid level will be normal, and it will have no impact on weight. It is not hard to regulate. Has the thyroid nodule been biopsied? You may want to see an endocrinologist.

Thyroid meds: If you have total thyroidectomy, he will need thyroid med. If you have partial thyroidectomy, the remaining may produce her thyroid hormone or not. Blood test (TSH) will tell your doctor if you need thyroid med or not and how much. Plse do not worry about weight gain. As long as TSH remains normal, you will not gain weight.
