Carbohydrates: Yes. Absolutely. This is the worst type of calories you can ingest when you have sugar problems or diabetes. Fresh fruit is 100% sugar.

If you have diabetes: Any food intake in-between meals, particularly fruit smoothies, can cause a spike in glucose. Your body isn't able to quickly secrete a surge of Insulin to prevent the rise when you're on oral therapy, and if you're on insulin, it wouldn't be covered by the injections before meals or the nighttime basal insulin. If you have diabetes, avoid in-between meal snacks of any kind. You'll also gain weigh.
