Unlikely..: BUN reflects most commonly how hydrated you are- are you drinking enough fluids of more concern would be leaking Albumin in your urine od increased creatinine discuss with your md.

No, but: Your sugar definitely needs to be in better control. Work closely with your diabetes team to achieve that end. BUN levels aren't very important, except as an indication of hydration.

Diabetic prognosis: To better answer your question, i need more information. What is your creatinine, how long have you had diabetes and is your blood pressure controlled? Both BP and diabetic (d) control are important in preventing d complications. As you can see from the slide on the right, control of blood pressure is more important than glucose control in prevention of diabetic complications. Lower both of them.
