High bun and bun/creatinine ratio results so bad kidneys?

Most of time: Generally high BUN and creatinine go hand in hand in bad kidneys(chronic kidney disease)., and bun/creat ratio is 10-15 to 1 , however if ratio >20 may indicate superimposed second cause like dehydration or bleeding in gut.
