Get evaluation: That describes a significant speech delay. While it s good to try to increase his vocabulary yourself, he should be seen by a family physician or pediatrician right away. He could have issues with deafness, or some other serious problem preventing normal development of speech.

Speech Delay?: When a child has limited speech & language development, it is important to make sure that hearing is intact and that there are no structural or functional/ neurologic reasons for the delay. Please encourage your godson's parents to see their pediatrician or family physician to begin the process to test hearing and obtain a speech evaluation and/or pediatric neuro-developmental evaluation as needed.
