I have fibromyalgia, and today i got extremely sharp pains all throughout my front and back ribs. is this just a flare-up or something else?

It is part of same: It is most probabely flare up of same syndrome and has to be treated symptomatically with pain relievers and if it persists you may need to take other meds Lyrica (pregabalin) or Gabapentin with or without antidepressants.

Fibromyalgia: It is important to have a comprehensive evaluation as fibromyalgia is rarely involving the rib section of the body. Other causes of rib pain need to be excluded which include trauma, cough, respiratory complications and strain. To simply classify the problem as another fibromyalgia sign would be a mistake.
