Dear Kangaroo: I don't know which doctor this is directed to. Are you referring to electroconvulsive therapy? Although i don't do ECT in my practice, i was trained to do it. It can make a remarkable difference in people's lives when other options have not worked. Nowadays it is painless and safe. Although it wasn't in the oldern days. At most institutions more than one psychiatrist needs to determine that it is.
