Need longer to know: Citalopram may need at least 4-6 (even 8) weeks for effectiveness to show. Please keep in contact with your physician, as s/he will want to know how you're doing. If it's clear that you've had no improvement by the time needed to see this clinically, there are other medications and/or possible ways to augment response. Psychotherapy may help also. Good luck to you.

Give it more time.: Most people generally require at least 6 to 8 weeks on a particular anti-depressant before they really begin to get the full effects of the drug. If you've only been on it for two weeks, and you're not having any side effects, then i would keep taking it for at least another 4-6 weeks, if not longer. If you still don't see an effect, check w/your doctor about possibly increasing dose or switching.
