Permanent backache: Provided you have a normal spine and have not hurt yourself lifting a heavy object, it is most likely deconditioned muscles that need some exercise. Start with daily walking of about 2miles and gradually add other exercises. Swimming is a great way to stay fit. Maintain ideal or near ideal body weight and avoid junk food and carbonated and sugary drinks.
