Get it checked: Get it checked by your doctor or an orthopedic specialist.You will need examination and xrays and if indicated MRI/CAT SCAN etc.

Everyday I wake up with a stiff, tight neck and a sore area on the upper right side of the back of my head. The area doesn't hurt, it just feels dull, achy, and sore to the touch. The neck stiffness lasts all day. Any ideas?
