A member asked:

Do you think i should consider therapy for anxiety?

YES!: Psychological counseling for the treatment of anxiety can be very successful, at times in conjunction with medication. Often when you master some skills in therapy the medications are no longer necessary for you to continue to feel better. Relaxation training as well as cognitive therapy have proven to be very effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders.

Yes ! Yes ! Yes !: It is refreshing to hear someone ask about therapy for anxiety instead of b-lining it straight for anti-anxiety medications. There are a # of ways to address anxiety: cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, psychotropic medications, qi gong, tai chi, acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, meditation, yoga or exercise program.
