YES!: Psychological counseling for the treatment of anxiety can be very successful, at times in conjunction with medication. Often when you master some skills in therapy the medications are no longer necessary for you to continue to feel better. Relaxation training as well as cognitive therapy have proven to be very effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders.
