No.: Red wine has resveratrol in it which is a component that is considered to aid in vein health and heart health. This is still considered in the realm of homeopathic medicine and there is no solid clinical evidence to support this. There is also no evidence that it will prevent varicose vein formation. However, i guess you could use this as an excuse to have a glass of wine per day.

No: Varicose veins are hereditary and made worse with pregnancies. There is no way to stop them from occurring (if you are going to get them), but you can slow the progression with compression stockings.
