Change your heredity: Unfortunately the only way to prevent and/or reduce varicose veins (without treatment) would be to change who you had as grandparents. Heredity is the cause of you getting varicose veins in the first place and is also the reason why you can't prevent them. Reducing them is easier. Treatment with sclerotherapy, endovenous thermal ablation, and/or phlebectomy will do that. See a vein specialists.

Genetics: Most varicose problems stem from heredity...Certain lifesyles and work situations can increase the stress on vein valves and bring out an underlying inherent weakness...Trauma, pregnancy, obesity, smoking, hormone therapy are just a few of the associated causitive factors.
