See your Dr: Particularly if you have a family history of high BP or kidney disease, you cannot fight genetics. Even if not, you should see your dr. To be sure you should not be on med while you address other causes of htn. It is the silent killer for a reason, so it is causing damage asymptomatically while you try to get in shape and/or lose weight--should likely be on BP med until don't need them. See ur dr.

Blood pressure: The 145 is a little high but the diastolic is fine. Salt restriction and exercise may be enough to bring the systolic down but for long term close observation of the pressure needs to be done as pressure may rise with time.
