In general..yes: Takotsubo's or broken heart syndrome is a pseudo heart attack caused by adernergic overload on the heart. Beta blockers interrupt this and reverse detrimental effects on the heart. It also prevents recurrence. Generally, we keep people on beta blockers long term unless we can't for whatever reason.
