A member asked:

At the age of 12 what is the most likely symptom of a brain tumor? if visual changes occur could an optician mistake them for other problems? thanks

Difficult diagnosis: Early symptoms of brain tumor include headache, dysfunction of portions of the body, seizures, weird sensations and sometimes visual changes. Opticians make eyeglasses and do not have the training to diagnose eye problems let alone brain tumors. Optometrists are deficient in this as well. At age 12 a pediatric ophthalmologist should be consulted or neurologist if there is any issue of tumor.

Wrong person to see: An optician is not a medical doctor and is probably the last person you'd want to see if you were concerned about a brain tumor. Go see an ophthalmologist.
