Downs syndrome: There is a range of abilities among people with downs syndrome. Many high functioning individuals are living on their own and working. I know of high functioning individuals who are attending community colleges. New research promises to enhance the ability of people with downs syndrome to have a greater chance to be independent and self sufficient. I hope so, I have a grandchild with downs sy.
