Usually not serious: Recurrent abdominal pain in children is pretty common yet only small percentage of these sufferers have organic cause(s), e.g., inflammatory bowel disease. There are a few warning signs: presence of vomiting or diarrhea, persistent localized abdominal pain, weight loss, pain causing child to wake up from sleep. Consult with her primary care doctor.

Diet: It is reassuring that your gp has found nothing serious. Your son may be constipated (and yes you can be constipated even if you poop every day). He may be eating something that causes his belly to hurt...The first two things i suggest you remove for a week are dairy (all dairy- milk, yougurt, cheese, etc) and gluten..If they contribute you will know soon. Eat more p fruits(peach pear plum prune).
