Obesity: If you're overweight a program of calorie control and exercise is your best best. Establishing a healthy diet/exercise pattern for the rest of your life is better than fooling with fad diets.

Paleo diet: Many people have food sensitivities to dairy and gluten -- and some to legumes. You could gain information about yourself by using the paleo diet plan for several weeks, then seeing how you feel. You could then gradually re-introduce dairy and see how you respond; same with wheat products, etc. Eliminating grains may allow your gut to repair itself ; you can become less Insulin resistant.
