Recurrent vaginosis: Make sure that you finish the medication prescribed for you. Avoid douching and limit the number of partners you have sex with it is not uncommon for it to recur.

Bacterial vaginosis: Recurrence may be related to your male sexual partner having his penis carrying the same bacteria you have been trying to rid yourself of. If you have a steady male partner you might want to try having him use an antibiotic cream or ointment on the surface of his penis twice a day while you are being retreated for BV and see if this reduces the frequency.
