It's full of food: Everybody's tummy gets bigger after eating food, but if a person gets unusually swollen, or has swelling as a new symptom (did not get it in the past), a visit to her primary care doctor is needed. The doctor will check to see if there is a mass inside the belly that is taking up space. If there is fluid (water) taking up space inside the abdomen, that may be due to a serious disease, too.
