Polyps: Most colon polyps are adenomas-these are all precabcerous to a degree. That is determined by size, number, and cell type of polyp. Risk of colon cancer increased if parent, sib, child has/had it. Increased more with more family members who have ca or polyps. Start screening with colonoscopy now; follow up to be determined by findings. Colon cancer is often preventable with screening, lifestyle.

Colon polyps : There are genetic tests for all varieties of family colon cancers. You may never have another problem, but you need to find out your relatives' type and get tested by a blood test. Look up other sources of familial colon cancer to do research to understand it better. Do not do nothing..Good luck to all of you.
