Terminology: Subchondral edema means you have a bone bruise under the cartilage in your knee representing microfractures in the trabecular bone. Sclerosis means hardening or increased bone deposition as a result of increased mechanical stress following wolff's law. Treatment can vary depending on age, severity and cause.
