Wouldn't recommend : Kava has a slight maoi - type of activity, and this could be additive with maoi antidepressants. With ssri's like prozac, zoloft, and Paxil (paroxetine) etc, it can accentuate sedative action. So, i would not recommend combining kava with antidepressants. Kava is mostly used for anxiety -- if experiencing this on your antidepressant, please discuss with your doctor. Adjustments or changes might be made.
