Multiple factors: By raising blood pressure, stress can increase the risk of a heart attack in people with artery plaques due to other factors like hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity, aging & family history. The jump in BP makes it more likely for a plaque to rupture and clot, leading to muscle damage. Prevention involves controlling treatable risk factors. At your age the risk is very low.
