Either way: Innoculation (giving a germ from one person to another) can occur with what you think is a minor exposure if the person ill has a high level of germs. So if they are really sick, especially in fever periods or while they have a lot of gunk on their tonsils in this case, they could infect you with just a small kiss. Obviously, the longer and bigger the exposure, the greater the risk of transmission.
