Depends: Early in treatment you are playing catch up and must reach a treatment level of the antibiotic in the blood before it can begin fighting the germ.Sometimes it takes a day or so before things settle and start to get better.Yet some staph infections expand within their space and must be drained to heal.If the area looks bad, call in and see if a recheck is needed.
