Resistance: The question is, why are you taking the antibiotic longer than prescribed? If you continue to take the medication longer than normal, you increase the chance that you will become antibiotic resistant to that particular medication. Therefore, a different, antibiotic may be necessary. You want to avoid doing this, as it may ultimately decrease your body's ability to fight infection. Keep smiling.
