Do longer term infections take longer to heal with antibiotics? i have had a stubborn ear infection for 6 weeks. amoxicillin failed. been taking co-amoxiclav for nearly 4 days and i dont feel much better. wait longer or go back to doctor?

Sinus congestion: Sinus congestion may prolong recovery, and use of nasal saline sprays is suggested. Continue the antibiotic for a full course, but if you have fever or worsening, please follow up with your PCP. Watch for signs of green nasal dc and prolonged cough.
