Anatomy: The male and female urinary tract is different when it comes to anatomy. Females have shorter urethras than their male counterparts. A shorter urethra makes it easier for bacteria to travel up the urethra to the bladder. The urethra in a female is also closer to the rectum allowing for a shorter distance for bacteria to travel. This is why proper hygiene is recommended for females to prevent uti.

Anatomy: 1)women have much shorter urthras than men. 2urine can be trapped behind labia if women do not spread thighs widely enough to seperate labia. 3)soapy bathwater/bubble bath can enter bladder via urethra, cause irritation permitting bacteria to adhere & penetrate lining. 4)rectum is closer to urethra. 5)sex act pumps bacteria from meatus up to bladder.5)thong underwear rub & push bacteria up urethra.
