If you are being : Treated with an antidepressant such as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (ssri) than it is likely to address your depression as well as your anxiety. If you are prescribed benzodizapines (xanax, valium, Ativan (lorazepam) etc.) it might relax you but it will not treat your depression or help to correct the underlying chemical imbalance.
