A member asked:

Why is it that nothing natural is sold by pharmaceutical companies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Definition: "natural" is an advertiser's term used by people offering remedies that are usually not evidence-based and are often derived from plants, though they may instead be synthetic vitamins made from petroleum. The botanical (vinca, taxol) and hormonal (insulin, melatonin) remedies that are powerful therapeutic agents are as natural (or more) than the stuff promoted by the glitzy ads on the internet.
