Absolutely: Most of my practice centers on menopausal symptoms that occur many years prior to the absence of menstrual periods. Ovarian dysfunction leads to these symptoms and is the reason that women are less fertile after 35-40 years of age. Hormonal imbalance occurs many years prior to the cessation of menstrual periods.

Regular periods: If you have regular periods, then it means you are not entering menopause yet. You may start having period irregularity any time now, though, but the hallmark of perimenopause is period irregularity, mood instability, hot flashes, increased sweating, insomnia, etc. Since none of those are mentioned and your periods have remained stable, i think you are not even in perimenopause yet.
