Yes, but...: Yes it can, but it's effectiveness depends on the organism causing the infection. This medicine, better known as avelox, is basically a brother to Cipro (ciprofloxacin) and Levaquin and it is used more for upper respiratory infections -sinus/bronchitis/complicated skin infections/ and some abdominal infections. While it may work, there are often better choices in most cases.
