Yes: Amoxicillin plus clavulinic acid which is a beta lactamase inhibitor are combined in Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) to increase the spectrum of amoxicillin. These drugs achieve high levels in urine and if the organism causing the UTI is sensitive to this drug combination it should be effective in treating the infection.
