Yes, 3 days: Often effective, not usually the first choice. Length of treatment depends on the nature of the problem. Simple cystitis is treated for 1 to 3 days. But kidney infection, prostate infection, infection with certain germs, presence of stones, and many other conditions call for different approaches.

Yes.: Multiple, recurrent uti's can lead to kidney disease, even kidney failure. Must be evaluated by urologist. Could be a problem, in ascending order from where the urine leaves the body, with the urethra, the urinary bladder, the kidneys. Your age, I am presuming u r female, is an important factor. Some women have a bout of cystitis / UTI after sex. There are effective ways of rx. See a gyn and a uro.

Yes: The act of sex can push bacteria into the urethra triggering an infection. It's a good idea to drink plenty of fluids around the time of sex so you can urinate after and expell bacteria.

Not much: Uti is a bacteridl infection requiring prescription strenth antibiotics. Cranberry juice cn sometimes help prevent but once you have an infection most likely you would need antibiotics.
