Easy Bruising: If by "normal" you mean "common", yes it's common. However, the roads to "easy bruising" are many. Some straight, some circuitous. Some simple and of short duration, others indicative of a more pervasive disorder. The best place to start is your primary physician who will do a thorough history and physical and, if needed, order further testing to arrive at an answer and offer appropriate treatment.

Yes, it can be.: Bruising is commonly seen in the elderly who have thin skin, and may be on medications (warfarin, aspirin) which tend to lead to easy bruising. When it occurs unexpectedly in someone who has not experienced much bruising, evaluation is recommended looking for abnormalities in platelet function.

Usually, yes: As drs. Isobe and rosen said, easy bruising can often be very normal. There are certainly any number of medicines that make bruising occur more easily. The issue really isn't how easily you bruise but how hard it is for the bruising to go away. As long as you bruising disappears in a normal amount of time, "easy bruising" is likely to be normal.
