A member asked:

Do the muscles of patients w/ hemochromatosis have very little give on palpation, stiff?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: I suspect somebody is telling tall tales. First, we've had a question about whether hemochromatosis patients have iron-brown blood. Now we're asked whether the muscles are extra-hard. Hemochromatosis involves inappropriate storage of iron but does not turn people into "iron man" -- though they may trip the metal detector at the airport.
