I have hereditary hemochromatosis. after giving a half a pint of blood, the nurse then proceeded to draw my normal labs cmp, chromogranin a, and iron panel. wouldnt her just drawing a half a pint off of me alter results ofthese other chemistries?

Drawing blood may make your volume more concentrated , but would not alter your CMP , Chromogranin A and iron panel except the Ferritin, which is what one is trying to lower in Hemachromatosis.

Blood donation 2 weeks later my platelets were high at 448. (Cut off at 397) at time of donation they were 358. Normal. All ther labs in cbc, cmp, tibc- normal except for iron saturation dropped to 15. Is it normal for platelets to rise after?
