Post-nasal drip: Post-nasal drip from a sinus infection commonly causes a sore throat (due the release of inflammatory chemicals from reactive white blood cells). Conversely, pn-drip from nasal allergies does not. You might want to have your ENT consider this possibility.

PND: May not be tonsillitis after all. You may have a sinus infection. Use an over the counter saline nasal spray, it will alleviate it.
