A member asked:

Mri with findings of mild chronic white mater supratentorially in periventricular region. is this something to worry about or normal aging process.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mild ischemic change: Signal abnormalities in the supratentorial white matter, which are best appreciated on the flair sequence of the MRI exam, in general are not very specific and may be the result of various processes. However, in older adults these are very common and in most cases the result of small vessel ischemic changes; essentially considered a normal part of aging given the high prevalence.
