No -- move beyond it: A sad, shy, and bullied childhood is painful, but does not have to determine the rest of your life. It can, of course, if you don't question what happened and examine your response. Working with a psychologist can help you understand, integrate, and move beyond what happened -- allowing you to show up in a different way for new experiences. This requires remembering & working through. Be well.

Our Pasts: Nope. You survived it and are now living a life that is full and you are thriving. You tell your story; you vow to live for kindness and compassion and to live with empathy. You champion programs and peoples dedicated to making this world safer for all kinds of people. You live as a testament to having survived. By doing so you will find other survivors who live with grace and conviction.

Transform vs Forget?: Our brains, if not our bodies, tend 2 hold on 2 memories of events/situations that caused or had the potential 2 cause us harm. I've yet to meet someone who has succeeded in forgetting such memories. But I have met/worked w/ many people who've been able 2 explore those painful memories & then have been able 2 transform them into force that has helped drive their lives in positive ways.
