See below: Peroxide, baking soda paste, tooth paste , garlic, ice pack, coconut oil, rubbing alcohol, lysine, tee tree oil, ......... Are example of what people use at home to help and speed up the duration of a cold sore episode. These maybe beneficial to some but not to all. Cold sores typically last 7 to 10 days.
