I peeled off the yellow coldsore scab ( yesterday and the "flesh" of my lip was pink/red, using carmex to keep moist, should i do something else?

Keep moist ; observe: I would leave the area alone. A scab will redevelop to protect the sore area. Do not pick the scab, so you do not develop scarring. Keep the area clean and dry and wear a sunscreen daily to avoid a dark scar there.

Would encourage you: To stop picking off scabs - for infection control. Your doctor can prescribe valtrex (valacyclovir). Melissa officinalis or lemon balm (cream) has been shown in european studies to help expedite healing of cold sores. It can reduce healing time by half. Studies also show that regular use can help v recurrences. Brief supplementation w lysine 1, 000mg orally 3x a day at the onset, can also hasten healing.
