Part of treatment: The person would be encouraged to eat and drink fluids. Sometimes refusal to eat is part of the person's illness, so treating this effectively with therapy & medications may lead to improved nutrition. If this fails or does not remit within reasonable time, stomach tube and GI feedings might be instituted, depending on health status.
