It's a long road!: First you complete medical school, then you do your internship and then complete a basic residency in obstetrics and gynecology. After that you can apply for a specialty residency in pediatric gynecology, which is another 2 years or so. Overall, it takes about 8-10 years to be completely done and practicing on your own as a pediatric gynecologist, depending on how long your programs are.
