No: Excellent question. As physicians, we know that self diagnosis is dangerous. It's a good start to be knowledgeable, obviously, but then you need to find a psychiatrist who is familiar with adhd and receive a thorough evaluation. This takes some time and patience. There are no lab tests, x rays, or other diagnostic tests. Diagnosis is made by a clinical exam. Medications are effective and safe.
