No,Unless...: Evaluation by a trained provider is the best and safest approach.Self diagnosis is not a good idea. And then together a plan can be formulated, which may or may not include medication.

No: Excellent question. As physicians, we know that self diagnosis is dangerous. It's a good start to be knowledgeable, obviously, but then you need to find a psychiatrist who is familiar with adhd and receive a thorough evaluation. This takes some time and patience. There are no lab tests, x rays, or other diagnostic tests. Diagnosis is made by a clinical exam. Medications are effective and safe.
