Direct communication: It is a bit more likely for a physician to accept a ADHD label if it was prominent during childhood. A general evaluation to exclude some other medical issues would be reasonable since there is overlap of symptoms with things like sleep disorders, hormonal problems, or poor nutrition. Start with your regular doc & proceed as the evaluation takes you.
