Add another medicine: I agree that non-medicinal support or strategies may be needed to help. Also speak to your doctor about possibly adding a non-stimulant medicine such as Intuniv or Kapvay that may be working on other sites of the brain to help you with your problem with misplacing things.

Comorbid LD?: The various executive brain functions (that are inefficient in adhd) respond at different doses of stimulant for different effects. Was your convergent retrieval processing tested? As suggested you may need a dose change to improve your scattered attention. This may be due an incompletely normalized active working memory. You may also have comorbid learning disability.

Several ideas: The presence of coexisting processing issues are as high as 30 % with ADHD and medication usually can't alter bad wiring. Simple issues like poor sleep efficiency, nutritional deficits, stress or illness can impair memory. There may be skillsets for memory you can be taught that would bypass the problem.
